We take student safety seriously at Novatio.

Comprehensive Screening: All staff undergo national background checks, including fingerprinting and screening against sex offender registries.

Recorded Sessions: All live classes and 1:1 academic coaching sessions are recorded for accountability and safety.
Monitored 1:1 Interactions: All 1:1 student interactions are conducted with fingerprinted staff and are subject to recording and school oversight.
GoGuardian Monitoring: All student device activity is monitored via GoGuardian for safety, attentiveness, and well-being.
Access Restrictions: Access to session recordings and monitoring tools is strictly limited to designated school officials.
Locked-Down School Devices: Devices provided by the school are secured to prevent the installation of unapproved or malicious software.
Chat Logs: All communication within learning platforms (chats, comments) is monitored and logged.

Annual Safety Training: All educators complete training on child safeguarding, mandatory reporting, abuse prevention, and appropriate virtual conduct.
Code of Conduct: Staff are bound by strict behavior standards regarding communication, professionalism, and digital boundaries.

School-Managed Platforms: Only secure, school-approved platforms are used for instruction.
Individual Access Controls: Students and staff access systems through unique logins; parent access is provided when appropriate.
Screen Monitoring: All student on-screen activity is recorded and monitored for safety and engagement via GoGuardian
Firewalls & Content Filters: Robust technology is in place to block inappropriate content and prevent external threats since our schools provide laptops to all students

Clear Reporting Channels: Families and students are provided with clear instructions on how to report suspicious behavior or potential bullying via the school website and student handbook.
Anonymous Reporting: (Pending) Potential addition of anonymous tools for students and families to report concerns.
Mandatory Reporting Compliance: All staff are trained and legally required to report any suspicion of abuse or neglect to the appropriate authorities.

Class Observation: Parents/guardians are welcome to observe live classes to promote transparency and trust.
Weekly Updates: Families receive weekly communications summarizing curriculum focus and any relevant class updates.

Regular Safety Reviews: Novatio conducts internal audits of virtual learning protocols to ensure full compliance with all safeguarding policies and practices.
